Frequently asked questions
Which calculation method should I use?
Use the method followed by your local mosque or Islamic authority: Makkah (Saudi Arabia, Gulf), Egypt (Egypt, Arab world), ISNA (North America), MWL (Europe, Far East), Karachi (Pakistan, Bangladesh, India).
Are these times exact?
The times are calculated using standard astronomical formulas and are accurate to within a few minutes. Local mosque times may differ slightly due to local adjustments or different methods.
Why are times different in summer and winter?
Prayer times are based on the sun's position, which changes throughout the year. Fajr and Isha times vary most in high-latitude cities where the sun angle changes dramatically between seasons.
