Frequently asked questions
What is binary text encoding?
Binary encoding represents each character as its UTF-8 byte values in base 2. For example, the letter A (ASCII 65) becomes 01000001 in binary. Each byte is shown as 8 bits, padded with leading zeros.
What is the difference between binary, hex and octal?
All three represent the same byte values in different number bases: binary (base 2, digits 0–1), octal (base 8, digits 0–7) and hexadecimal (base 16, digits 0–9 and A–F). Hex is most common in programming because two hex digits represent exactly one byte.
Does it support Arabic and other non-ASCII text?
Yes — the converter uses UTF-8 encoding, which supports all Unicode characters including Arabic, Chinese, emoji and all other scripts.
How do I decode binary?
Paste the binary string (space-separated 8-bit groups) in the input box and click "To Text". The tool converts each 8-bit group back to its UTF-8 byte and decodes the result.
